CORRUPTION O CORRUPTION

Several moons have passed.
Several heads have been counted.
Several red hues on a green-white pigment have been spilt.
Several bulgy eyeballs have sunk deeper into their sockets.
Yeah!
The agony of this disease affects others
and not they that practice!

Several moons have passed since my birth.
Granddaddy spoke bitterly of this disease.
Hmm, he died from it.
Grandmommy cursed the prints of this ailment.
She was stoked by it like woods in a fireplace.
Several heads have been punished for this disease sake!
Hmmm…

Corruption Corruption!
Few saw you as their saviour,
Accepted you and made you an altar.
Yes!
In their hearts, lives, and actions did they worship you.
Corrupt-one!
Yeah, the name of your worshippers.
So they swore an oath to keep you.
Just you — for themselves.
Sparing not kin nor he(she) that tries to pin.

Hitherto, my ears and sockets have listened to
the silent voices of their deafening agony.
The ominous cries of those whose flesh putrefy into dust!
For the pain of these moments eat deep
like termites on a wood stick.

Corruption O Corruption
Whose nemesis art thou?
For neither I nor my family;
For neither I nor those that writhe in pain
beckoned on you in prayer.
Yeah, never did our lips ask you to bitterly beautify our lives.
CORRUPTION O CORRUPTION,
What are YOU?
