The Philanthropic Friend of Mine - Procrastination.

Over the centuries, people have always complained of one thing as being a hindrance to their growth.

They give it different names. The Christians call it - Time Thief.
Psychologists refer to it as an Hedonistic Delay.

Well, whatever the names given by different disciplines of mankind, it still has one profound name - Procrastination.

Procastination is a common feature among man's daily living at present.

In my experience with Procrastination, I've come to realize that it depends on one's personal liking.

I'm a very versatile person and as such can have different interests simultaneously if I find them remarkable.

Presently, I'm enrolled in a Professional Certification for Data Analysts.
Concomitantly, I'm also enrolled in an EMC course.

And I might possibly get tired of one over the other.

I realized that the lengthier the hours spent on learning, there was an increased boredom for me.

Everyone has a different reason for Procrastination.

For you, it might be laziness, and another it could be uncertainty.
Yet in my case, it's purely disinterest.

I lose interest very quickly and this is if the material seems repetitive, similar to what I already know, unexciting, and long.

Caveat: Procrastination is no spiritual problem. No one is fiddling with your head or body. Don't allow your hysterical beliefs to take a humongous percentage of your life.

Procrastination is normal and every human being experiences this need to give in to its desire.

Over time, I've come to realize that Procrastination can be dealt with especially if yours is stimulated as a result of disinterest like mine.

Here is what I do:

  • Before I take on anything, I ensure that it's highly rewarding. These rewards could be in cash or mental improvement.
  • It’s new knowledge. If an activity seems old to me, I lose myself completely.
  • It must prove to be mentally exciting and challenging. I love challenges and an exciting one gets me drunk. This way, even if I’m jammed with a lot of challenges and the need to give up is strong. I can fully shrug off the feeling and persevere.

This is how I keep up my interest in a thing. Yeah, I don't indulge in anything that is likely to disinterest me sooner.
